Glorious Morning as a Guest Speaker at St. David of Wales Separate School
As I arrived at St. David of Wales Separate School this morning, I received a wonderfully warm welcome by some staff and Ms. Barton, the Principal.
The gymnasium was perfectly all set up for my Public Speaking presentation by Ms. Rajic, the Needs to Moderate Teacher, and Ms. Colautti, the Librarian / SERC.
After morning announcements, the grade four to eight students populated the gymnasium. An attentive and engaged audience listened intently to my Public Speaking presentation. Following my presentation, Amelia, a gracious grade eight student, held the wireless microphone and wore my FM System around her neck, to facilitate the Question and Answer period.
Before students left the gymnasium, they completed their Exit Tickets. Below are excerpts from some of these:

Now, I wonder… “What kind of ways can I become more positive and nicer to people.”
Today I heard/saw… “I heard and saw a lot of stuff! Giselle was able to face a lot of challenges! If they hurt or not. That was incredible!”
This made me think… “How I should face challenges in the future. That is what I should be doing.”
Now, I wonder… “If I will be able to face all my challenges! I think I can do it!”
Today I heard/saw… “that we can make a positive impact on everyone.”
This made me think… “Is it easy or hard to make a positive impact on someone.”
Now, I wonder… “Have I ever made a positive impact on someone.”
Today I heard/saw… “Giselle’s presentation on how to push through life.”
This made me think… “To always be grateful for what we have in life.”
Now, I wonder… “If I can carry out my dreams of playing in the NBA and building schools for children.”
Today I heard/saw… “Giselle teach me and my school to be yourself, and to ask for help when needed.”
This made me think… “of how brave and confident Giselle is.”
Now, I wonder… “What challenges I will go through and who will help me.”
Today I heard/saw… “a story about Giselle and the challenges she has gone through but with help she faced them”
This made me think… “of any challenge that come, we can face them together.”
Now, I wonder… “after this presentation will life have challenges that I will need people for.”
Today I heard/saw… “Today I saw Giselle and I heard her talk.”
This made me think… “This made me think that everyone is special in own ways.”
Now, I wonder… “I wonder if in the future Giselle will become a ‘famous’ public speaker”
Today I heard/saw… “that people are right beside you when facing challenges.”
This made me think… “that I’m not alone in my life.”
Now, I wonder… “if people help me out in life, I can succeed in life too.”

Now, I wonder… “I wonder how can a person be so positive and happy about life.”
Today I heard/saw… “Anything is possible, always remember who you are, be who you are, because God never makes mistakes. Challenges make you stronger, if you let them.”

This made me think… “What if people don’t need help should I still help?”
Now, I wonder… “Should I help people too?”

This made me think… “that I should always have a positive attitude.”

Today I heard/saw… “That it’s ok to be different, we are never alone”

I am so happy to have inspired these awesome students this morning. I am very grateful to Ms. Barton and Ms. Rajic for inviting me as a Guest Speaker to their blessed school. It was truly a glorious morning at St. David of Wales Separate School!
