Thoughts influence everything you do, all the time, without end. Some studies show that we have billions of thoughts a day, and these are thoughts that we recall from our lived experiences and our imagination. Both are equally important. Think about it this way. If you think about an experience that makes you happy, you become happy. If you think about a sad experience, you will become unhappy. Now, if you look at each day with sadness, you will have a sad day. If you look at a day with hope and possibilities, you will have confidence and opportunities throughout the day. You are leading to a happy day. It all comes down to you.
Thoughts influence everything you do. In life, if you choose to see the best in things, you will. These thoughts allow you to see the world in that way. You will go throughout your day seeing people in a newer light and with greater joy than before. People who know the world with joy and happiness don’t experience sadness. It just means that they see the world in a positive light. Similarly, if you have a negative mindset and, therefore, thoughts, thoughts will influence everything you do negatively. You will see the worst in people and see the bad side of everything.
Now let’s be clear. While I am a positive person, I am not saying everyone should be. Far from it. Just because most of the time, I am positive and see the best and expect the best, I see the worst sometimes. I see the worst-case scenario when things go wrong, or things change in an unideal way. I am happy because I focus on the positive. I focus on what’s next. My thoughts influence me, but I am a controller of my dreams. I am the controller of everything I do. While this may not lead directly to a positive attitude, it leads to an actionable one. Suppose you learn to take charge of life. If you change your thinking, you will change your life.
“Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.” -Lao Tzu & Mahatma Gandhi. It’s not to say that you must be positive or negative. It’s to say that you should be somewhere in the middle. It would be best if you balanced your life by being the best version of yourself and being accountable for whatever that means. You are the controller of your thoughts, and you are the controller of your destiny.
Next week I’ll be talking about goal setting. If you have supportive thoughts, you can achieve all your goals and reach your dreams and aspirations. If you have unsupportive thoughts, then you are lost before you began. You are beating yourself up with no one else in the ring. Thoughts change your life. But they can change them for better, or for worse. It just depends on you, and it depends on your thoughts.
Life is what you make it, and your thoughts are what you make it. You are wherever you are today because of your thoughts. You are where you are today because of your actions, which are controlled by your thoughts. You are the change in your life that you need. You are the person who will lead you to every high road full of success and happiness and every low time and sad part of your life. Thoughts can change day today, but it’s up to you to keep them controlled and continuing along the road that you choose to travel along. You are allowed to change lanes and add and remove different people in your vehicle travelling along the way, but it’s up to you where your vehicle goes. You are in control.
This week I want to remind people that thoughts change your life and in my life. I have many challenges. However, with my thoughts being under my influence, I make sure that I am always steering down the path I choose. I do not allow outside influences to change where I want to go. I allow myself to explore and learn new perspectives and opinions. However, I know that I’m in control of my life, and I wish you all safe driving. I know you can do it, and you can follow along your path to be that much more straightforward in your approach of life as you will be in the driver’s seat of your thoughts, which will change your life for the better. It’s all up to you, and I know you can do it. Safe travels 🙂
