An Honoured Presentation at the DPCDSB Faith and Program Committee Meeting
On the evening of January 14th, 2025, I had the distinct honour of presenting at the Faith and Program Committee Meeting to the Board of Trustees. The memorable invitation, graciously extended to me by Ms. Corbet, Trustee and Vice-Chair, on behalf of Mr. Xaviour, Trustee and Chair, in December 2024, was a thrill to receive.
I was warmly welcomed by several esteemed attendees upon arriving at the Board office, including Ms. Child, Board and Committee Information Officer; Ms. Sue Forman, ICT; Lay Deacon Raymond Frendo; Mr. Brunton, Superintendent of Equity and Indigenous Education; Ms. Kyte, General Manager of Clinical Services and Special Education; Ms. Papaloni, Superintendent of Special Education and Learning Services; Mr. Iannicca, Trustee; Mr. Campbell, General Manager of Communications and Community Relations; and the honourable Ms. Mazzorato, Ed.D., Director of Education and Secretary to the Board. Ms. Mazzorato’s presence was particularly meaningful to me, as she was my first school principal, who was instrumental in initiating my journey as an inclusive student, back in Junior Kindergarten.
As the meeting commenced, Mr. Xaviour, Chair, provided a warm introduction, and I was truly honoured by the engagement and unwavering support of this distinguished audience. Their respectful interactions fostered an enriching and inspiring atmosphere.
Following my presentation, Mr. Xaviour, Chair, and Ms. Corbet, Vice-Chair, shared heartfelt remarks that I greatly valued.
I had the distinct pleasure of taking a group photo with the esteemed Board of Trustees present that evening: Ms. Brea Corbet, Mr. Darryl Brian D’Souza, Mr. Herman Viloria, Ms. Anisha Thomas, Ms. Paula Dametto-Giovannozzi, Mr. Shawn Xaviour, Mr. Bruno Iannicca, Mr. Stefano Pascucci, Mr. Thomas Thomas, and the Student Trustees: Raheem White, Bailey Clyne, and Jia Sharma.
The generous assistance from Ms. Child and Ms. Forman, both before and after my presentation, was immensely appreciated throughout the evening.
In summary, it was a blessed evening, filled with meaningful interactions and support. It was both a pleasure and an honour to present at the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board’s Faith and Program Committee Meeting.
